Academic Achievement Awards
These awards have been established to recognise the academic achievements of pupils in the Leaving Certificate Exam. Students who get an A in a higher level subject or over 500 points are presented with a Certificate and a memento of the school. One or both of these achievements is very significant since students are competing against over fifty five thousand of their peers. It represents the culmination of five or six years of honest endeavour and hard work. The school community is also proud of the role it has played in the academic achievement of its pupils and in shaping the kind of young people they have matured and developed into.

This year twenty-two students were invited back to the awards ceremony, which took place in the school gym. Parents and guardians were also invited to recognise the fundamental role that they have played in the education of their children. The Board of Management and the Parents’ Association were also represented, as was Mr. Joe Durkin who sponsored the awards ceremony. Refreshments were served in the school Library afterwards where staff, parents and recipients could mingle and chat about old memories and new experiences.
